Lead Help Desk Support Technician – IT Support Services

JOB SUMMARY

Provides in-depth support and leads problem solving and implementation efforts for specific technology products or applications. Works with callers and other help desk specialists to resolve normal and unusual information system problems. Evaluates the efficiency of new tools and utilities, used for help desk services. Monitors and categorizes incoming calls, analyzes frequently-asked questions and defines procedures. Participates in the analysis of client-identified issues or problems which may require changes to procedures, standards or systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

If job duties include operating a motor vehicle the incumbent must possess a valid Class D driver’s license. Must have a two-year degree in computer operations/network related field or equivalent work experience. Must have three years practical experience working with large computers and networks. Must possess skill sets necessary to administer Service Desk software application through understanding of software functionality to include automation of alerts and escalations. Must have thorough knowledge of batch and other job automation software to minimize manual tasks. Must be motivated, a creative thinker, excellent written, oral and listening communication skills, and have the ability to multi-task. Must possess the ability to interact with varying personality types with professionalism and handle stressful situations. A positive attitude and dedication to instructing and supporting others regarding Help Desk best practice standards is expected.
