This position maintains, repairs, and installs Moorhead Public Service’s (MPS’) electric distribution and transmission systems; works with or on energized conductors of all voltages; responds to electric outages; performs streetlight and traffic signal maintenance and installation; and ensures that power is supplied to all internal and external clients without disruption.
Minimum qualifications include completion of a one-year electric lineworker program, three years of lineworker experience at a utility, Class A CDL valid in Minnesota, and residence within a 22-minute drive time of MPS’ Dispatch/Operations Center in order to comply with policies related to standby rotation. Desired qualifications include completion of a two-year electric lineworker program, five years of lineworker experience at a utility, and certified as a journeyman lineworker.
The current wage is $24.88 to $41.46 per hour. Benefits include pension (Minnesota Public Employee Retirement Association), health insurance, and generous vacation and sick leave.
