Director of Dining Services

The purpose of this position is to provide overall leadership and management for the Dining Department. The Director is responsible for all aspects of overseeing and managing a large, full-service, year-round, institutional dining operation. These responsibilities include overall leadership and management, facilities management, leadership for the division of Finance and Administration, supervising safe operation and role modeling teamwork and customer service. The Director is expected to provide innovative dining opportunities, ensure culinary excellence, offer nutritious and appealing selections and maintain high levels of satisfaction for students, faculty, staff and guests.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Hotel or Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, Business Administration or related field
Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience in dining service operations in a college or university setting
Familiarity with all phases of food purchasing, preparation, production control, merchandising and service
Minimum of 3 years of experience in supervising full time staff and student employees
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage labor and workforce needs of a multi-faceted operation
Demonstrated ability to identify training needs and provide development opportunities to staff at all levels of the organization
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Computer skills
