Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)

Three short years ago, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that North Dakota would be one of six test sites for unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Fast forward to today and we are busy harnessing technology that enable unmanned aircraft to provide business information and drive business decisions.

  • The state’s “Research ND” program offers $5 million biannually in grants for research and development to organizations and companies involved in UAS research through cooperation with UND and NDSU.
  • Partnerships with higher education institutions connect leading technology with industry and student coursework
  • At Drone Focus Monthly, individuals, entrepreneurs and businesses interested in leveraging drone technology talk drones at a monthly meet up.
  • Drone Focus Conference is in it’s fourth year and last year boomed to over 600 attendees. The annual two day event featured 55 speakers from around the nation.
