Fargo has a designated foreign trade zone (FTZ), #267 with six sites across Cass County. Fargo’s FTZ is a restricted-access site in or adjacent to a U.S. Customs port of entry that is legally defined as outside the Customs territory of the United States. A company that is in an FTZ can eliminate, reduce or defer tariffs on parts they import. This directly and positively impacts the bottom line for local manufacturers that conduct business globally. For our companies in Clay County, FTZ status can be achieved by working with existing FTZs in Minnesota.
