GFMEDC Hires Joseph Raso as President & CEO

Fargo, N.D. (May 15, 2018) – The Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation (GFMEDC) has hired Joseph Raso as president & CEO. Raso is set to join the GFMEDC in July of 2018. The announcement ends a five-month, nation-wide search.

Raso is the president of Blane, Canada Ltd. Raso has more than twenty years of experience leading economic development organizations including the Colorado Springs Business Alliance.

“We are excited to welcome Joseph Raso to our community. Having considerable executive level economic development experience in Iowa and Colorado, Joe will be a valuable asset for building our already impressive business community and attracting a skilled workforce. We are planning a more formal introduction to the community in July after Joe arrives with his family,” said Jeffry Volk, GFMEDC chair and Moore Engineering President & CEO.

The GFMEDC hired Jorgenson Consulting Incorporated (JCI) to lead the recruitment effort. JCI assists non-profit economic and community development organizations throughout United States.

Former president, Jim Gartin, retired March 15, 2018. Paul Lucy, formerly of the ND Department of Commerce has been serving as interim president.
