Fargo, N.D. (December 21, 2018) – The Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation (GFMEDC) has hired Ryan Aasheim as Chief Business Development Officer. Aasheim will lead the organization’s business development efforts including new primary-sector business attraction and business retention and expansion.
Aasheim brings more than 13 years of economic development experience including work with Praxis Strategy Group and on behalf of former Senator Byron Dorgan.
“We are very excited to have Ryan join our team,” said Joe Raso, GFMEDC President & CEO. “Ryan’s understanding and personal connections with industry leaders of many of our region’s targeted sectors, including precision agriculture and unmanned aerial systems, propelled him to the top of our list of incredible candidates for this key position in our organization,” added Raso.
The GFMEDC will continue to build upon its successful business development efforts. Under Aasheim’s leadership, the EDC will reach out to and serve the needs of the more than 350 primary-sector businesses in the Greater Fargo Moorhead region. And, to ensure targeted companies and consultants understand the opportunities for business growth in the region, the GFMEDC will be reestablishing a robust and strategic national business attraction program.
The GFMEDC worked with Sagency, a Fargo-based executive search, strategy and coaching firm, to lead the recruitment effort.
The GFMEDC is a non-profit, investor driven public-private partnership working to grow the economy through programs that support primary-sector business attraction and retention, workforce development and support of the Cass County, ND and Clay County, MN entrepreneurial ecosystem.
